about

Tranz Party is the debut album by One Ring Zero.

One Ring Zero began with Michael Hearst and Joshua Camp in 1997 as a recording project. Once a week, Camp and Hearst would get together in Hearst's studio (Urban Geek Studios) and write and record a song from start to finish in one days time. The majority of instruments used were either homemade or highly-unusual and were generally recorded using experimental techniques. Instruments included claviolas, theremins, accordions, organs, banjos, tubas, bread machines, kitty litter boxes, metal-o-phones, jones-o-phones, and more. In 1998, the ORZ 6 piece live band was formed. The first few years, the band shared billings with Cibo Matto, Medeski, Martin and Wood, Two Skinnee J's, Drunk, The Ululating Mummies, The Roots and others. The music of One Ring Zero was also used in dance concerts, student films, animations, fashion shows, and NPR programing.
